Nursery Information
Welcome to Acorns Nursery where children are at the centre of all our decisions and are valued as individuals. We encourage the children to have a positive self-image, the ability to communicate confidently and to value and show respect for others.
We accept children from the term after they turn 2 years old in Red Acorns. These can either be parent funded sessions or funded childcare - please see the 'Funded Early Education' tab for more information.
3 and 4 year olds are in Blue Acorns. We accept the Universal 15 hours funded places as well as 30 hours funded places or alternatively parents may top up their child's hours with parent funded sessions.
Red Acorns and Blue Acorns work collaboratively, and we deliver a broad and challenging curriculum that encompasses the acquisition and development of skills, understanding and knowledge.
We teach by example and model expectations of good manners, politeness and respect for others and their environment, making the EYFS learning environment a pleasant and inspiring place for all children.
Play underpins the delivery of the EYFS Curriculum and children learn through practical, hands-on experiences and interactions with their environment and teachers. Throughout the day the children have a mixture of child-initiated play, actively supported by adults, as well as focused learning.
We value the importance of an outdoor environment and the children have daily opportunities to develop their thinking and problem-solving in our mini-woodies area where they experience forest school type activities.
